This elegant home started as a concept to build an environmentally sensitive home on an amazing site in the Atenas locale reputed to have the best weather in the world. Perched atop a ridge with 270 degree views, the home was designed and refined over a period of three years to LEED standards. Walls and grand water features are all situated to cool the home naturally. The Balinese styled roof allows maximum light without overheating the interior, the roof also hosts solar electric and collector panels and walls are strategically placed to absorb excess heat. The home is immune from periodic power and water outages with battery backup and a cistern. The design concept of the home was to provide a couple with a truly elegant living environment that maximized the amazing views in a spacious living environment. The architects were directed to create a guest suite that could be enjoyed when not in use. The result is a wonderful home where there are no unused spaces. Virtually all rooms are enjoyed every day.
